The Central Bank of Libya announced today, Thursday, the restoration of work on all systems used in the banking sector, including the main banking system “Oracle”.
The bank’s official Facebook page reported that this came after the bank’s management began transferring operations that had been halted as a result of the bank’s previous management blocking and disrupting work in banking systems.
The bank’s management confirmed that the bank’s main network had returned to normal operation, enabling the relevant departments to resume their activities related to the banking sector and manage the bank’s reserves abroad.
The bank’s management has also restored local and international payment systems, including “Swift”, “RTGC”, “ACH” and “ECC”, in addition to the local disbursement authorization system related to citizens’ salaries in sectors funded by the public treasury, which will enable the payment of citizens’ salaries throughout Libya next Sunday.
The Central Bank of Libya confirmed that it has taken all technical, security and legal measures to secure and protect its banking systems.
The Central Bank commended the efforts of all its employees and workers in all state institutions, who all exerted their utmost efforts to return work to normal, in service of citizens and to preserve the bank as a financial institution that provides its work professionally, away from political conflicts.
