Russia has approved a sketch of a new 100-ruble note, it will appear in circulation by the end of 2022, said the deputy head of the Central Bank Mikhail Alekseev in an interview with Izvestia.

The transition to the use of the new banknote will take several months, Alekseev warned, noting the need for banks to reconfigure their counting and sorting machines and ATMs. “Therefore, we will have them in stock, but we will distribute them first among credit institutions for testing this equipment,” he said.
