According to the decision, “The Central Bank of Libya will begin receiving requests for foreign exchange coverage through the coverage system designated for this purpose, as of 01/05/2025, for various purposes, and accordingly you are requested to work on preparing your banking systems and prepare to accept requests from your banks’ clients from various sectors.” Individuals, companies, entities, and all permitted entities in accordance with the regulatory controls issued by the Central Bank of Libya in particular, with the necessity of adhering to and adhering to them.”
Earlier, a source from the Central Bank of Libya confirmed that “the bank is preparing to resume the sale of foreign exchange.”
The bank explained that “the sale will be for all items, starting from the first of next January, as a matter of course.”
The Central Bank of Libya “announced its intention to stop foreign exchange sales, starting from December 21, to resume at the beginning of January 2025 as a regular annual procedure.”
