The Central Bank of Iraq sells more than a billion dollars in a week

/ The Central Bank of Iraq’s total sales of hard currency for the US dollar, during the past week, amounted to more than one billion dollars.

Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank sold during the past week and for five days during which the auction was opened, one billion, 87 million, 575 thousand, and 84 dollars, at a daily rate of 217 million, 515 thousand, and 16 dollars, higher than what it recorded last week, which amounted to 825 million, 58 thousand, and 155 dollars.

Last Tuesday recorded the highest dollar sales, amounting to 241 million, 810 thousand, and 397 dollars, while the lowest sales were on Sunday, amounting to 208 million, 285 thousand, and 40 dollars.

The agency’s correspondent indicated that foreign remittance sales during the past week amounted to 825 million, 879 thousand and 20 dollars, an increase of 91% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 72 million, 760 thousand dollars.

He explained that the sales went in the form of cash and remittances abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards amounted to 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of remittances abroad and the cash selling price amounted to 1,310 dinars per dollar.
