The Central Bank reveals a budget surplus of about 2 billion dinars within 9 months

Official data, issued by the Central Bank of Libya, on revenues and spending from January 2024 until September 30, 2024, showed “achieving a budget surplus amounting to 1.7 billion dinars.”

According to data issued by the bank, “total revenues amounted to 71.98 billion dinars during the aforementioned period, while total expenditures amounted to 70.22 billion dinars.”

The data showed that “revenues were distributed at 59.6 billion dinars for oil sales, 10 billion in oil royalties, 1.3 billion in tax revenues, and 129 million for customs.”

According to the data, “While telecommunications revenues amounted to 125 million dinars, and revenues from selling fuel in the local market amounted to 32 million, the value of other revenues amounted to 800 million, noting that these revenues represent revenues received from financial services controls in Libyan cities in exchange for public services, including “refunds, Passport fees, car ownership fees, fines, and other fees.”

Regarding expenditures, according to the data, “The first chapter on salaries received 43.1 billion dinars, and 5.4 billion dinars were allocated to the second chapter on administrative expenses, while the third chapter on development received 325 million dinars, and the fourth chapter on support received 12 billion dinars.”

According to the data, “allocations for the financial arrangements of the National Oil Corporation amounted to 6.3 billion dinars, and the financial arrangements for the General Electricity Company amounted to 3.1 billion dinars, and it is noted according to the data that “the allocations for Chapter Five regarding emergencies amounted to zero.”

The Central Bank indicated, “The item on the financial arrangements for the Oil Corporation comes as a continuation of the exceptional budget scheduled for the year 2023, and likewise the arrangements for the Electricity Company.”
