The Central Electoral Board has agreed to extend the deadline for voting by mail until this Friday at 2:00 p.m. Correos had requested the extension of the deadline early this morning.

“Correos has asked the Central Electoral Board for this extension of the term to facilitate the management of the re-issuance of electoral documentation to people who indicated a delivery address in their request and then have asked to receive their electoral documentation at another address,” the company had assured in a statement on Thursday.

The initial term for the collection of the votes by post ended tonight. The unions had estimated at the start of the day that 230,000 voters were missing to send their vote on the last day of the deadline.
