This event, which also saw the participation of members of the CGEM Bureau and its Parliamentary Group, aims to breathe new life into the CGEM Regions, so that they fully play their role in promoting private investment and the acceleration of socio-economic development across all territories, in harmony with the action of the CGEM at the national level and the ambitions set.
This meeting was also an opportunity to determine the actions to be undertaken to further encourage entrepreneurship and job creation by taking into consideration the strengths of each region and inter-territory complementarities in order to actively support the positive momentum that knows the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, marked by the ongoing deployment of the mechanisms of the Investment Charter, in particular that linked to Very Small or Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the operationalization of Mohammed VI Fund for Investment and the organization of major sporting events in 2025 and 2030.
In a statement to MAP on this occasion, the president of the CGEM, Mr. Chakib Alj, affirmed that the objective consists of deepening reflection on the means to be deployed to accelerate private investment in the territories and on the actions concrete measures to be undertaken so that “our territories, which are full of opportunities, play their role as engines of growth and job creation”.
“Today’s workshop also deals with the specificities of each region, Public-Private Partnerships as levers of growth and the synergies to be created between regions so that the private sector can fully play its role and continue to make our economy a prosperous and job-creating economy”, underlined Mr. Alji, who chaired this meeting.
For his part, the president of CGEM Dakhla, Mr. Mohammed Zebdi, indicated that this seminar is in harmony with the Royal Vision on advanced regionalization, explaining that the goal consists of “allowing all regions to be able to participate in the all-out development that Morocco is experiencing.
“This type of meeting is able to create synergies between all regions and makes it possible to identify all the opportunities offered,” he added.
For the president of Moroccan entrepreneurs and high potentials World (MEM) of the CGEM, Mr. Karim Ammor, this type of conclave allows the diaspora, whether traditional entrepreneurs or high potentials who want to come and contribute to development economic in accordance with the vision of HM the King, to identify the way in which it wants to fit into each of the identities and specificities of the different regions of the Kingdom.
The themes discussed during this conclave focused on priority levers to boost investment in the region, in particular those linked to the business climate, the establishment of territorial offers or even the improvement of the Business-Administration relationship and digitalization, Public-Private Partnerships as a driver of development, as well as the mechanisms to be put in place to promote synergies between regions.
At the end of this meeting, a roadmap was also established in order to provide the CGEM Regions with more tools to support and strengthen proximity with their members, to create more bridges between the CGEM Regions, Federations, Commissions and the CGEM Group in the Chamber of Advisors and to expand the Confederation’s service offering.
