LThe CGT calls a strike at the technology consultancies DXC Technology -formerly HP-, Alten and Global Rosetta-Getronics, ICT multinationals that total more than 7,500 people on their staff, and that are “called to strike”, 800 of them in Zaragoza.
“As a consequence of the highest inflation in 30 years, practically all the workers of these companies have lost, to this day, 15.1% of purchasing power since 2020″, they highlight from the CGT, and add that ” which is equivalent to 55 days of annual salary. To this must be added the €300 monthly increase in the average mortgage or the skyrocketing rental prices”.
Likewise, the union assures that “the signing of the ICT agreement by the CCOO and UGT, with increases well below inflation, and being in the vast majority of cases absorbed on the payroll, are valued as irrelevant by the templates”.
For this reason, and due to “the refusal of the consultants to negotiate salary increases”, from the sections of the CGT “consultation mechanisms were activated in the different companies that were answered by a large part of the workforce. More than 65% of the people called for a strike in the face of the business blockade”.
“Sections of the CSI, ELA and Intersindical-CSC unions have joined the strike, while the CCOO and UGT unions have preferred not to make any movement,” explains the CGT.
They explain from the union that “computer consultants provide technological services to the main logistics companies, public administrations, the financial sector, transport and a long etcetera”, so that “the coincidence on the same day of strike will limit the possible affectations to the main productive sectors” of the state.
In our country, the city of Zaragoza will be the one that acquires prominence, since it has called “the strike day, and rallies on June 16 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de España, to make public the discontent of the template ”, conclude from the CGT.
