She will be present around the table. Sophie Binet, secretary general of the CGT, announced this Tuesday on France 2 that his union will be present on Wednesday at Matignon.

The Prime Minister, Élisabeth Borne, organizes a meeting with the inter-union formed during the opposition to the pension reform. The purpose of the executive power is to launch discussions about its text on work. But the discussion looks more general. The CGT had not yet given a public response regarding its participation.

“We will go to tell him that the pension reform is not behind us and that it is a bad reform which will apply on September 1 in catastrophic conditions for millions of employees”, declares Sophie Binet. She specifies that “a meeting of the inter-union takes place at the end of August to exchange prospects for actions in the fall”.

The head of the CGT intends to take advantage of this meeting “to bring the real priorities of the employees, including the salary, which has become a taboo word for the government. We are going to demand answers on social expectations such as gender equality, good protections when you lose your job…”

Sophie Binet also returned to other themes defended by her union. She regrets, for example, that “two very violent reforms for the deprived of employment have reduced the amount of allowances by around 30%. “And only 40% of registrants are compensated,” she adds. “On our priorities, wages and unemployment insurance, there is nothing. We also want to talk about social democracy in business with a diminished role for representatives. We also want to talk about gender equality and the environment,” she lists.

After “Super-liar”, “Super-amateur”

More generally, she denounces the line taken by the executive power and in particular the 100 days set by President Emmanuel Macron for Élisabeth Borne to “appease” the country in the wake of the pension reform. Sophie Binet qualifies them as “elements of communication language and strategy”. She makes a comparison with the old humorous program of Canal + Guignols, where former President Chirac “was a super-liar. There, it’s Super-amateur “. “Responding with security and authoritarianism to pensions and suburbs is the wrong response,” she argues.

At the beginning of April, the leaders of the trade union centers had been received after three mobilizations against the pension reform. The unions had left after an hour in the face of the government’s refusal to withdraw the text. In mid-May, Elisabeth Borne had also received the unions, but without a specific agenda. The meetings took place over two days, plant by plant.
