The Chairman of the National Association of Grain Producers (NOT) Iliya Prodanov accepted the invitation of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev to join his team in the Council of Ministers as advisor.

Iliya Prodanov studied law at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, but his entire work experience so far has been in the field.

He is a hereditary grain producer, and the family farm cultivates 12,000 decares of land in four plots in two municipalities – Burgas and Kameno.

Legal knowledge helps him in the field of agriculture, in which he has been working for over 15 years.

“The biggest university is the field,” Iliya Prodanov told the media some time ago.

In 2020, he was awarded “Young European Farmer 2019”.

Until 2023, Prodanov is the chairman of the Association “Union of grain producers “Markeli” – Karnobat.

Since April of this year, he has been elected chairman of the Board of Directors of NAZ, and in 2020 he was offered to occupy this position, but then he refused.

Iliya Prodanov is well aware of the problems in the agricultural sector and, in his capacity as an advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, will provide objective support and seek the right solutions.

NAZ is the largest organization of grain producers in Bulgaria, whose members are regional associations from almost all regions of the country.

The aim of the non-governmental and independent association is to represent and protect the interests of the members and to stimulate the farmers. Many times the Association has been a constructive opposition to institutions and bodies in the field of agriculture.
