The Chamber of Palamós and MicroBank collaborate to offer financing for business projects

The Chamber of Commerce of Palamós and MicroBank, the social bank of CaixaBank, collaborate in order to facilitate the financing of business projects through microcredits.

Thanks to an agreement between the two entities, a lfinancing of 1 million euros to “enhance self-employment and encourage entrepreneurial activity, promoting equal opportunities with special attention to vulnerable groups”, according to CaixaBank.

With this collaboration, es will finance the creation or expansion of micro-enterprises, self-employed businesses and self-employment projects. The beneficiaries will be professionals with less than ten workers and one annual turnover of less than two million euros. Applicants may opt to microcredits for a maximum amount of 25,000 euros. Projects must have a business plan and a favorable feasibility report drawn up by the Palamós Chamber of Commerce.

As detailed by the entity, MicroBank’s criteria for granting microcredits is based primarily on trust in the person or team requesting the loan and the viability of the project.

CaixaBank points out that during 2022, MicroBank financed in Catalonia 29,873 projects with a social impact worth 308.5 million euros, of which 24,247 microcredits worth 183.5 million euros were intended to meet specific needs of families and 3,881 for an amount of 51 million euros were granted to support entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises.
