PAOK’s experienced midfielder, Magomed Ozdoev, spoke about his high goals with PAOK after winning the championship, but also about his position in Razvan Lucescu’s team.
Magomed Ozdoev, in statements he made in his home country, spoke about PAOK’s goal, which is their presence in the next Champions League, and he emphasized that he is satisfied with his role in the team and winning the championship.
In detail what Russian midfielder Dikefalos said:
For the first championship outside Russia:
“This is my first such experience, it’s exciting. It was a tough championship with a lot of emotions. It’s a nice feeling to be first. In the end everything ended the way we wanted. If we do it a compared to the league titles with Zenit , the gold in Greece reminded me of my first championship with the St Petersburg club”.
To compare this year’s championship with the ones he won with Zenit and PAOK’s title win after five years:
“It is always easier psychologically and mentally to win the titles as soon as you can. When everything is hanging by a thread, it is more difficult. Yes, the emotions are stronger than I felt when I won the championship with Zenit 5-6 matches before. We lived in this championship until the end here at PAOK”.
Regarding the goals in PAOK:
“They were the highest, as is the case with all top clubs like PAOK. At the same time, it must be understood that in Greece there are four teams competing for the championship. But both the club and me personally, we set only the maximum goals with Lokomotiv.”
On how the title win was celebrated in Thessaloniki and his experience:
“Thessalonica was on fire. It was a big celebration for the people, we were very happy. We celebrated the victory until 8 in the morning, nobody slept. Immediately after the match we went to our stadium which was completely full. Then we went around Thessaloniki by bus, we celebrated with the fans until 5 in the morning”.
For PAOK fans:
“The city lives on football, all the guys in the team know it and they live it every day. It’s clear that when something goes wrong, that the results are not what we want, the fans are angry, but that’s normal.”
For the most important opponent:
“Among the best teams is Olympiakos, among the other teams is Aris”.
About life in Thessaloniki:
“Yes, although everything has its advantages and disadvantages. It’s nice in Thessaloniki: good weather, everything is nearby, there are Russian restaurants and shops. But I haven’t explored the city much yet, I didn’t have time. lots of games, flights and moves”.
Regarding the contract with PAOK:
“I have an agreement with PAOK until the summer of 2025, which can be extended for another season. I am happy with the position of the team, we are champions. The goal is to play in the Champions League. I cannot guess how everything will develop later, anything can happen in life But so far I like it here, in Greece and in PAOK”.
