“We are before an intolerable lack of respect that they do not deserve on the part of an Administration that seems not to understand that the most important thing about the oath (of students of the new promotion of Police) are its protagonists, the future new agentsand not the political agenda of certain authorities”.
In this way, the Spanish Police Confederation (CEP) criticizes the change in the date of the swearing-in of the new agents, which will cause them harm since many of their families havethey had done reservations to travel to the School of Ávila.
“The General Directorate of the Police has announced this morning that the date of the swearing in of the new Basic Scale police officers will be June 2, after an initial forecast was communicated to them at the end of February -in it the 19th was set. “The decision, of which students have found out through social networks of the National Police a few hours ago, has generated surprise and confusionn. (…) Since, In August 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the opposition for admission to the National Police for the Basic Scale corresponding to that year was called, the 2,366 opponents who overcame that tough challenge began their training period, which now culminates with the end of the period of practices in different templates of the Corps. That sacrifice and dedication, which has also provided talent and has strengthened the operational capacities of the Higher Police Headquarters throughout Spain, has now met with a dance of dates that these future new agents and their families do not deserve”.
“EWe demand transparency in the choice of the dates for the swearing in of new police officers, that they are not affected by the agenda of the political leaders of the Ministry of the Interior, that they be communicated officially and personally to the interested parties and that they are always taken into account the interests of families to find accommodation and displacement. The effort of so many years of those who will shortly be police officers deserves these measures by the DGP. In addition, the change announced today, passing the oath from May 19 to June 2, has no operational justification that was not known well in advance.”.
