Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a small medieval village located about twenty minutes from Nice. At the moment, holidaymakers are taking advantage of the calm of the off-season.

It is one of the busiest sites on the Côte d’Azur. Each year, more than two million tourists roam the cobbled streets of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, in the Alpes-Maritimes. Attendance dries up in mid-September, to the delight of holidaymakers from Les Sables d’Olonne (Vendée). “It’s more pleasant, and then the mild weather, too, it’s less hot”says the woman.

On the road to the Col de Vence (Alpes-Maritimes), Luxembourg cyclists have also chosen their moment to enjoy the landscape. The tourist clientele is different from that of the high season: retirees, young parents and many foreigners. Everyone enjoys the calm of the village. “The light is beautiful”observes a foreign tourist.

Something to delight the locals. “That period is quite pleasant. We are not cut off socially, we have enough life to have tourists, and at the same time it allows us to live as villagers”, explains one of them. Traders also find their account there, because tourists spend more.
