After the series win against Pakistan, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus announced the meeting with the cricketers. A few weeks after the cricketers returned home, the moment finally came. Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s team went to meet the Chief Advisor’s office with the trophy from Mirpur Sher-i-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
On Thursday (September 10), Shantos were welcomed at noon. At that time, the chief advisor referred to the series win against Pakistan as historic. He said, ‘I spoke to the captain after the victory. But I was eagerly waiting to meet you directly and congratulate you on behalf of the nation.
Yunus was at the Paris Olympics before taking over as Chief Advisor. What is his role highlighted to the cricketers. He was there as a consultant and goodwill ambassador. The chief adviser reminded the cricketers how sports unite a nation.
The cricketers are also happy to see him. Captain Shanto said, ‘Every player is happy to come here. It will really motivate us.’
On social media, the cricketers expressed their excitement to meet the Chief Advisor. Some also publish images separately. Apart from the cricketers, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed, Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Sujan and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeev Bhuiyan were also present.
