The Chief Minister has given an incentive of Rs 1.10 crore to Jerlin Anika and Prithvi Sekhar Deaf Olympics: 1.10 crore cash prize for Tamil Nadu players

Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin has given an incentive of Rs 1.10 crore to Tamil Nadu athletes who won medals at the Summer Deaf Olympics.

The 24th Summer Olympics for the Deaf was held in Brazil from May 1 to 15. Jerlin Anika (18) from Tamil Nadu won 3 gold medals in the singles, mixed doubles and group events for India on behalf of the Indian team. The Chief Minister gave him an incentive of Rs. 75 lakhs.

In addition, Prithvi Sehgar (39) from Chennai, who represented India in men’s tennis, won 1 silver medal in doubles and 2 bronze medals in singles and mixed doubles. The Chief Minister gave him an incentive of 35 lakh rupees.
