Maritime threats and challenges related to cyberspace were the main topic of the annual meeting of the Chiefs of European Navies (CHENS 2024), organized by the Slovenian Navy, in Kran.

The Chiefs were welcomed by the Chief of the Slovenian Navy Captain Bogomir Tomazic, while the opening of the Summit was announced by the Chief of the Armed Forces of Slovenia Lieutenant General Robert Glavas.

Greece was represented by GEN Chief Vice-Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras who – on the sidelines of the session’s work – met privately with the commander of the Joint Force Command Naples (JFC NAPLES) Admiral Stuart B. Munsch , the commander of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) Vice Admiral Mike Utley, his counterparts from the United Kingdom Admiral Sir Ben Key, Italy Admiral Enrico Credendino and Slovenia Captain Bogomir Tomazic as well as with the Inspector General of of the Armed Forces of France Admiral Xavier Baudouard, with whom he discussed issues of mutual interest as well as the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation.

The CHENS meeting is an open communication forum aimed at promoting cooperation and exchange of views between the Chiefs of the Navy.

The next CHENS 2025 session is scheduled to be held in Latvia.
