Rabat – On the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration (ADN), received, Monday at the ADN headquarters in Rabat, Marshal Birhanu Jula Gelalcha, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, on an official visit to the Kingdom, from August 25 to 29, 2024, at the head of a large delegation.

After reviewing the state of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and the possibilities of strengthening it further, the two officials expressed, during this meeting, their satisfaction with the level of excellence reached by the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries while expressing the common ambition and will to consolidate, in the future, these exemplary relations, indicates a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

On the same day, and upon the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, received at the headquarters of the General Staff of the FAR, Marshal Birhanu Jula Gelalcha, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.

During the working session held in the presence of the two delegations, the two heads of delegations discussed the various aspects of cooperation, while welcoming the level reached by relations between the two armies. The two officials also discussed ways to strengthen this cooperation and expand it to other areas of common interest, according to the same source.

Rooted in a rich and deep history, bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, revitalized since the historic visit of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, to Addis Ababa in 2016, are evolving towards a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the shared objectives of the two countries while actively contributing to the development and stability of the African continent.
