The Chief of Staff visited the scene of the attack in Ariel: “We will investigate and learn lessons, it should have ended differently”

The Chief of the General Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi, arrived this evening (Tuesday) at the scene where the serious attack took place this morning in which three Jews were murdered in Ariel.

The Chief of Staff, together with the commander of the Central Command, Colonel Yehuda Fox, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Lt. Col. Avi Blot, the head of the Civil Administration, Lt. Col. Fars Atila, and the commander of the Efraim Spatial Brigade, Lt. Col. Mordi Weiss conducted an investigation at the scene of the incident.

The Chief of Staff expressed his sorrow for the murdered and wounded in the attack and expressed his appreciation for the fighters who neutralized the terrorist.

At the end of his visit, the Chief of Staff said: “Today’s attack is a serious and murderous attack, which should have ended differently. We will investigate and learn the lessons. I offer my condolences to the families of the murdered and a speedy recovery to the injured.

Those who neutralized the terrorist were young fighters who strived for contact and acted calmly in order to bring an end to the murderous killing spree. The IDF will continue Operation Breakwater as long as necessary and will operate anywhere and at any time, in order to fulfill its mission and maintain the sense of security of the residents living in Israel every day.”
