Washington DC: The third season of the biblical series ‘The Chosen’, which chronicles the public life of Christ, has received an overwhelming response in theatres. “The Chosen” was released in 2,000 theaters in the United States on November 18 and collected 8.2 million dollars in three days. According to last week’s ranking, ‘Choson’ is in third place. It is also noteworthy that this achievement was achieved by competing with major Hollywood films.

The first two episodes of the eight-episode season three were released in theaters. The theatrical release of ‘The Choseny’ will only be for a few days before being made available on the free streaming app. The remaining six episodes of the series will reportedly be available on the free streaming app every week from December.

Ticket sales of ‘The Choseny’, which started from October 25 when the trailer was released in theatres, are still going strong. Series director and co-creator Dallas Jenkins announced on his Facebook page that the overwhelming response from theaters may pave the way for future theatrical releases of The Chosen series.

Based on the Bible, ‘The Chosen’ is a TV series that has gone down in history as a huge crowd-funding project. The series began airing in 2017 and is slated to run over 50 episodes over seven seasons.

The series in which Jonathan Rumi comes before the audience as Christ attracts not only Christians but also non-Christians. The response to the first two seasons is proof of that. Hundreds of thousands of episodes have already been watched through the official app of ‘The Choseny’ alone. It is also noteworthy that Catholics and Protestant church members are part of the series.
