Olmedo continues his preparation for the 2024 season, Juan Cruz’s work could be observed by the fans in a friendly match against Deportivo Quito.

The match began with the visiting team taking advantage on the scoreboard during the first half, showing a solid tactical disposition on the part of Martín Mandra. However, in the second half, Professor Juan Cruz, Olmedo’s strategist, readjusted his team and managed to improve his offensive performance. The changes made by Cruz bore fruit, and the home team began to dominate the game, generating constant attacks towards the rival goal. Olmedo’s persistence in search of the goal culminated in a penalty called by the central referee. Joel Almache was in charge of taking the penalty and converting it into a goal, thus tying the score with a single shout of joy from the fans present. Despite his efforts, Olmedo failed to capitalize on his dominance on the scoreboard and the match ended in a draw.
For its part, Deportivo Quito showed a good defensive performance, but evidenced the need to improve effectiveness in finishing and definition in the rival area. In addition, it is worth mentioning that some Olmedo players did not have playing time in this friendly match, as they continue in the process of adapting to the team and the coach’s playing style.
