In the former kindergarten “Kolobok” on Kharidus, 30, active work is underway: windows are being removed in the building, doors, it seems, will soon be tearing down the walls.
Will this building be completely demolished, and what will happen in its place, Narvite residents are wondering? The authorities once said that a park would be built on this territory. Is this the plan they are preparing to implement?
“Narvskaya Gazeta” received the answer to these questions from the vice-mayor of Narva, Irina Smirnova:
– The building on Kharidusa, 30 is being completely demolished. It had been empty for several years, had no heating and, in general, could not be restored to meet the needs of an educational institution. The costs of demolishing the building are largely covered by a government subsidy from Kredex. Only the fencing of the territory (fence) will remain. After demolition, landscaping will be carried out (ground leveling, grass sowing).
The territory of Hariduse, 30 is large enough to plan a recreation area (green zone) on it and use part of the soil for the construction of a public building. For example, at the construction commission of the Narva City Government in September 2022, a recommendatory decision was announced for planning a day center for the elderly in this area. The advantage for construction on this territory was that the soil is located in the city center, public transport stops are accessible, the green zone would allow the center to organize outdoor activities, etc.
But in any case, this idea needs to be worked through to the end, since the creation of the concept of the center itself is still in the works.
