Despite a difficult context which has characterized the last ten years, Morocco’s foreign direct investments in Africa have recorded remarkable developments, argues the Center.
In the panorama of international economic relations, the partnership between Morocco and India emerges as an eloquent case study, marked by deep cooperation, historically anchored in the phosphate trade, indicates the same source, adding that this collaboration has not only consolidated Morocco’s position as a world leader in the export of phosphates, but also opened win-win economic development corridors.
Concerning the partnership between Morocco and China, it has experienced significant development in recent years and is deployed through multiple cooperation programs in different areas, currently boasting significant progress illustrated, in particular, by the fairly marked progression in the volume of trade between the two countries but also by the strong boost experienced by investment flows.
According to the CMC, cooperation between Morocco and China is expected to be further strengthened given the major strategic choices of the two countries and their advantageous positioning in their respective spheres of influence on the geo-economic level.
On the axis of sustainable development, the Center notes that Morocco is aware of the importance of environmental issues with the rise of risks linked not only to climate change but also to the effects of certain modes of production, exploitation and consumption , multiplying for more than ten years the initiatives marking its commitment to sustainable development through a series of reforms aimed at establishing the foundations of sustainability.
The promulgation of Framework Law No. 99-12 establishing the national environmental charter constituted the first founding act in this area which aimed at structuring State action in favor of sustainable development.
The second important act was the launch, in 2017, of the national sustainable development strategy (SNDD) which marks Morocco’s commitment to making sustainable development one of the pillars of its development model and, more generally , of the social project that he intends to promote in the future.
