The National Secretary for Culture within the CNDD-FDD, Calinie Mbarushimana in her speech for the occasion indicated that building decent houses for the heroes of peace and democracy is a sign of recognition towards these heroes who sacrificed themselves. for the return of peace and the recovery of democracy in Burundi.

Calinie Mbarushimana asked Bagumyabanga members of the ruling party in particular and the population in general to remain vigilant in safeguarding peace and security because the enemy of the country is always on the lookout.

The National Secretary in charge of culture reported that the CNDD-FDD Party spent 100 million BIF for the week dedicated to the heroes of the fight for peace and democracy. For the moment, the Party has opted to use this sum in the construction of decent houses for its ex-combatants, added Ms. Calinie Mbarushimana.

The CNDD-FDD party then plans to build 500 houses for vulnerable ex-combatants each year, or 100 houses per new province.

Cyriaque Ngerageze, a demobilized and former CNDD-FDD fighter from Matongo hill, from the new commune of Nyabihanga expressed his feelings of gratitude for having been provided with an adequate house. And added that he had just been honored as demobilized from the CNDD-FDD party.
