A cult photo of the “Levski” team from a quarter of a century ago became a hit on social networks. It features the two coaches in the derby – Stanislav Genchev and Zahari Sirakov, but there are also other interesting names.

You can see the president of BFS Georgi Ivanov-Gonzo, the manager John Ingles, the coach of the national team Iliyan Iliev and of “Goztepe”, the former coach of CSKA and a bunch of teams Milen Radukanov, the father of the Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Madeleine Radukanova, and Georgi Bachev , who is an advisor at FC CSKA 1948.

The others are Martin Stankov and Dimitar Ivankov on the top row and Asen Nikolov-Bebeto on the bottom.

The photo is from a wedding at the “Levski” stadium in 1999.

Genchev and Sirakov were even roommates when they found themselves in the capital club. Zahari Sirakov comes from “Levski” (Kyustendil), and Genchev – from “Etar”.

The two were together on the field in only 4 matches, and in them “Levski” had no draws and losses, only victories.

Genchev is in the history of the matches between “Ludogorets” and “Levski” and in another paragraph. He is the first Bulgarian goalkeeper to guard for the people of Razgrad in the derby. This happened in 2012, when at the end of the match Ivan Chvorovich was sent off and Genchev put on the gloves for a very short time – just a few seconds.

Stanislav is also the fifth coach who led “Ludogorets” for the longest time in history, as he was a temporary option on several occasions, but accumulated 37 matches at the head of the hegemon in his native football.
