The informative report, which is expected to be seen by the government soon, envisages a two-fold increase in the target grant for collective managers, which means that the municipalities will receive funding for salary increases, Lāce said, adding that the municipalities will be required to provide reports on the use of the target grant.

In the opinion of the Minister of Culture, in the long term, this will allow to better evaluate how the new remuneration system works and how it could develop in the long term.

According to the minister, it has been a long process, as consultations have taken place with all municipalities, the Song Festival Association and social partners.

It has already been reported that the government could allocate an additional 1.2 million euros per year for the reform of the remuneration of leaders of the Song and Dance Festival collectives over the next three years.

Last year, the Ministry of Culture had to develop a proposal for the procedure for financing the wages of artistic collective leaders from 2024, including determining the criteria by which the state budget target grant for the wages of artistic collective leaders and mandatory contributions to the state social insurance is calculated and distributed.
