This code also constitutes “the expression of a firm conviction and deep faith of the different components of the legislative institution in the need to establish a consensual system of ethics, and engaging the direct responsibility of all parties in its application and compliance with its provisions, through the explicit support demonstrated by its signature by the presidents of the groups and the coordinators of the groups, and in a personal capacity, by the other members of the Chamber not affiliated with a parliamentary group or grouping “, indicates the Chamber of advisors in a press release.

This code, specifies the same source, includes 35 articles, setting out explicit commitments of the members of the House of Advisors in terms of ethical parliamentary behavior, which everyone must observe, whatever their responsibilities and their status, when of the exercise of their representative missions, both within the legislative institution and outside when they must use their status as parliamentarians.

The consensually approved code, with all the commitments and restrictions it contains, constitutes a set of fundamental ethical standards to which one must comply, in addition to all other provisions contained in the Constitution of the Kingdom, organic laws, laws governing the work of members of the Chamber, as well as its internal regulations.

The signing of this code of ethics makes it a binding pact which governs the action of all groups, groups and unaffiliated members of the legislative institution and imposes on everyone the responsibility to personally ensure its application and compliance, in taking into account the powers devolved to the organs of the Chamber by virtue of its internal regulations, with regard to the control of offenses and the taking of appropriate sanctions.
