The Colombian cyclist Juan Pablo Sossa has left an indelible mark in the Vuelta a Extremadura, by conquering the last stage of this prestigious cycling competition.
The runner from Boyacá, who competes under the flag of the Vigo Rias Baixas team, demonstrated his talent, endurance and speed in the 147.1 km of the final stage, held this Sunday on Spanish soil.
With a perfect combination of skills and strategy, Sossa stood out in the final sprint, overtaking his rivals and crossing the finish line in first position.. His victory allowed him to rise to third place in the overall individual classification, being just 12 seconds behind the leader and champion of the Vuelta a Extremadura, the Spanish José Luis Faura Asensio, from the Cortizo team.

The Colombian not only stood out in the final stage, but also shone in other facets of the competition, by being crowned champion of the mountain awards classification and obtaining second place in the points classification.
«I am very happy with what we have achieved, we have worked very hard for this and here are the results. Today, we will celebrate these good results, but tomorrow we will start thinking about the next objectives,” said Sossa, visibly moved by his victory and his outstanding performance in the Vuelta a Extremadura.
