Popocatepetl volcano has released 167 eruptions in the last 24 hours, according to the National Disaster Prevention Center’s daily monitoring.
The VAAC advisory center said the smoke had risen to 6,700 meters. Local residents are urged not to approach the volcano, especially the crater, due to the danger of falling hot debris.
