The actor, comedian and musician Mauro Muñiz de Urquiza, better known as Don Mauro, has died suddenly this Sunday at the age of 58. The versatile artist rose to fame as a comedian after the monologues broadcast on Paramount Comedy, a project with which he visited San Sebastián on several occasions, to make thousands of people laugh with his wit.
Mauro Muñiz de Urquiza, son of the writer from Gijón Mauro Muñiz and brother of the former Socialist MEP María Muñiz, has participated in many theater projects and also in numerous series and films. Among the best-known series in which he participated are ‘La que se avecina’, ‘Sin tetas no hay paraíso’, ‘Hospital Central’, ‘Aída’ and ‘Los hombres de Paco’. He was also part of the cast of films like ‘Pagafantas’ or ‘No Controles’.
After learning of his death, the world of humor has not been slow to convey its condolences to him, as is the case with his colleague Luis Piedrahita, who has defined him as “a committed, educated and knowledgeable uncle.”
