Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky refused to name the exact number of killed and wounded Ukrainian defenders. At the same time, he noted that Russia’s losses in the war against Ukraine are three times higher than Ukraine’s. And these, it should be said, are only those Russian losses that the Ukrainian side managed to confirm; in reality, the figure may be even higher.

Syrsky said this in an interview for The Guardian.

He specified that the Kremlin’s losses are three times greater than Ukraine’s losses, and in some areas even more. They suffer losses daily and in all areas of the front, but at the same time they do not stop trying to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In February, President Volodymyr Zelensky said 31,000 Ukrainian servicemen had died since 2022. However, Syrsky declined to comment on the figure. He stressed that the losses were a “sensitive” issue that could be exploited by Moscow.

It is worth noting that the Russians do not take their losses into account, they simply do not mind killing people for the sake of another meter of captured land. Russia intends to increase the number of troops in Ukraine to 690 thousand by the end of the year. The occupiers have an advantage in equipment and means, noted Syrsky.
