After analyzing three bids to acquire the Duralex glass works, the Orléans commercial court accepted the proposal from the Production Cooperative (Scop), supported by 60% of the workforce.

This Friday, the Orléans commercial court approved the acquisition project of Duralex presented by the workers in the form of SCOP (cooperative company).
This project makes it possible to save 226 jobs of Duralex, and in particular to continue to the factory La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, in the Orléans region. The snake considered Scop as a « unity and importance of sales and marketing projects » with some « strong guarantee »considering that it appears you are capable of maintaining the « the activities of the workers under the possible conditions ».
Staff working on this project receive extensive support from local elected officials. So the city of Orléans has offered to buy the glass factory, for a price estimated between 5 million and 8 million euros. The Centre-Val de Loire region has promised support in the form of a bank guarantee.
Chronic financial problems

This project should make it possible to support Duralex work and maintain all services. »
The challenge now is not to return to financial problems, which are chronic in Duralex. The company has undergone several acquisition processes in recent years. New dates from 2021; the state also had to lend 15 million euros to the company to get through the energy crisis that followed the war in Ukraine.
