The commissioner congratulated Ben Gvir for leading the recruitment grant process: “an important thing”

The Commissioner of Police, RN Ya’akov Shabtai, today (Friday) congratulated the Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben Gabir, for leading the movement of the recruitment grant (a grant of 25 shekels for a new recruit in the Jerusalem Police).

The commissioner said: “This is an important step, but I am confident that the minister will act to provide the same grant to the blue policemen in the Jerusalem district, policemen who work from Nablus to Nablus together with the Border Guard officers and are in the same difficult and complex scenes and under the same threats.”

He further added: “It was promised to give grants to all the policemen with an emphasis on the policemen of the stations in the other districts who are the direct link to raising and improving the police services to the citizen.

It is unthinkable that a police officer who is enlisting now will earn significantly more than a police officer who has been serving for several years.

Precisely at this time when the police officers work around the clock with never-ending workloads, I fully expect that the Ministry of Finance will also recognize the need to raise the salaries of the police officers in accordance with the budget agreements that the Minister of National Security is leading these days.”
