The measure applies to all municipal educational centers.
Due to the frontal system that affects a large part of the country, the Ministry of Education (Mineduc) announced the suspension of classes in eight communities from the regions of Valparaíso and Biobío.
According to the authorities, the suspension of classes applies to this Wednesday, May 8 in the face of intense precipitation and snowfall which affected a large part of the central and southern area of the country.
Suspended classes
According to what was reported by the Mineduc, the suspended classes are for the municipal educational establishments of the following communes:
Valparaiso Region
- Putaendo: all municipal establishments
- Los Andes: all municipal establishments
- Panquehue: all municipal establishments
- San Esteban: all municipal establishments
- Calle Larga: all municipal establishments
- Santa María: all municipal establishments
- Catemu: all municipal establishments
- San Felipe: all municipal establishments.
Bio bio region
- Alto Biobío: all municipal establishments
Along with this, the Mineduc reported that the suspended classes will also be for the Bellavista School in Coya, the Chacayes Rural School, the Little Duende Kindergarten and the Tricahuitos Kindergarten in Machalí, in the O’Higgins Region, in addition to the Manuel Montt High School in Puerto Montt, in the Los Lagos Region.
