Tonight (Sunday), Nata announced the concessionaires who will carry out the second phase of the purple and green line of the light rail in Gush Dan.

Out of the 10 bids submitted by five groups, the company’s tender committee decided to select the bid of the group consisting of Alstom, Dan and Electra to carry out the second phase of the Green Line project. The Shafir Group and the Spanish CAF won the establishment of the Purple Line.

NTA explained that “as part of the tender procedure and after a hearing that took place, it was decided by the NTA Tenders Committee to reject the bid of the Housing and Construction Group, CRRC, CRCC and Egged for the Green and Purple Lines.”

The tender is a PPP (Public Private Partnership) tender, the content of which includes the construction, planning, maintenance, supply and financing of the green and purple light rail projects.

The Green Line will operate commercially in 2027 and will connect Holon and Rishon Lezion, with the center of Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv University, the industrial and business area in western Herzliya and the business area in Kiryat Atidim. The length of the line is about 39 km and 63 stations will be built (of which 4 are underground).

The purple line, which will operate commercially in 2026, will connect Kiryat Ono and Yehud to central Tel Aviv, via Bar Ilan University, Sheba Hospital, and the Carmel Market. The length of the line is about 27 km at ground level, and it will include 45 stations.

Last week, Nata evacuated buildings along the route of the Purple Line in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood of Tel Aviv. The banks and the Securities Depository hope that they will be able to reduce the schedules in order to reduce the delays caused by the lines. At the same time, the Green Line is also suffering from further delays in the preparation of the underground tunnels at Ibn Gvirol in Tel Aviv.

In addition, the disqualification of Chinese companies in the tender (CRRC and CRCC) will satisfy government ministries that have had to deal with pressure from the United States regarding Chinese involvement in the establishment of infrastructure projects in Israel.

Haim Glick, CEO of NATA, boasted great news for the residents of every Gush Dan. And complex, and I expect the winners to justify the trust placed in them, and prove their ability to lead the above project safely, in accordance with the schedules and the benefit of the residents of Gush Dan and all the passengers. I would like to thank the members of the Tenders Committee for the effort that has been invested throughout. “
