According to the LRT investigation, the concern company “2PM Baltic”, which has only one employee, won the public procurement announced by the Police Department in April of this year. The law enforcement institution purchased an underwater search and reconnaissance robot for operations at sea from the aforementioned company for approximately 33 thousand euros.
In response to the publicized information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicated that it had already contacted the Coordination Commission for the Protection of Important Objects for National Security and the Police Department, which prepared the public procurements, regarding these acquisitions.
“What does that mean? What function will that thing perform? Will it provide access to special data or infrastructure? Will it be purely technical? (…) Well, of course, in response to the information you provided about certain related companies and chains, we asked for information from both law enforcement and institutions ensuring national security,” Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Dmitrijev told LRT.
