The comparison between Fantasy Tower and Genshin Impact is killing the game – Yalla Match

by time news

It’s been over a month since the global release of Tower of Fantasy (ToF), but those who enjoy multiplayer online (MMO) and gacha (commonly called slot machine or slot machine style) games are at least willing to give it a try. I’m sure you’ve seen it before. .

My classmate Claudia did. Her first impression was more positive, but she soon realized that the deeper she got into it, the more frustrated she was with the game.

As a longtime fan of HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact, I felt compelled to see what ToF has to offer as well. Many I hope ToF Jinshin becomes “better”.

I tried it during the global version, and I’ll readily admit.

After two solid years playing Genshin Impact, I gave up on Drifter’s Journey pretty quickly, being very disappointed with what ToF had to deliver so early on.

I wouldn’t waste my time continuing to play a game I didn’t think I would like in the future, especially if I didn’t like it at first.

Don’t get me wrong, I personally have nothing against ToF. The game itself does not appeal to me.

However, this article talking about why we think ToF may not be successful or “survival” in the future should not be used in a buggy game, lackluster storyline, or other game elements that others have trouble with.

No, my point here is that it would be a must My fan base You will “kill” the game.

History repeats itself, results may vary

When Genshin Impact first appeared, many comparisons were made to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BOTW).

Cooking, stamina systems, and even gliding seem to be their own BOTW stuff, and Genshin rips them right out (I’m cynical if it wasn’t obvious already).

However, I don’t deny that some elements are heavily influenced by BOTW. HoYoverse itself openly admits this.

However, in the midst of all this, it also became clear that many people were jumping on the bandwagon to criticize the new game, untouching the BOTW game itself.

So it makes sense why the comparison is starting to fade, as Genshin Impact later proves to be radically different in story, gameplay, lore, and more.

In particular, I’d like to touch a little more on the fact that many of the fierce critics of the original haven’t played BOTW itself.

For those unfamiliar with BOTW, it is an adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles.

There are emulators that let you try out the game on PC, but they weren’t officially available for PC or mobile.

Most importantly, BOTW is a game that must be purchased to play legally. They are PC, mobile, and PlayStation (and a Nintendo Switch release pending after January 2020).

This is for Genshin’s favour because people who were only on the hate train who had never tried BOTW quickly fell silent when they realized they were already enjoying what Genshin as a whole had to offer.

Now, ToF is in the archaic position of origin, and by applying the BOTW-Genshin framework to compare origin and ToF, we finally come to the conclusion that it is the fanbase that implements ToF.

Both games are in a similar situation, with one advantage and another disadvantage

For one, both Genshin Impact and ToF are easily accessible games.

The free-to-play nature and availability on mobile and PC has opened the door to a large global market. As mentioned in the introduction, many Genshin players had also tried ToF.

If someone has played both games, it makes sense to make a comparison, especially if they think ToF is actually a potential “Genshin Killer”.

This also allows us to maintain high hopes and expectations that ToF will continue to improve, especially if we are not yet satisfied.

Claudia enjoyed the sci-fi mechanics of the game.

This puts the ToF team under enormous long-term pressure to continue improving the game, which could lead to two scenarios. Either you improve the game to meet the expectations of the masses, or you simply fail and stabilize, and eventually become useless.

If the first happens, fans will be disappointed if the ToF teeth We are able to meet their expectations and continue to raise their standards. If ToF can’t keep up, fans will retaliate fiercely.

If the ToF fails early and plateaus, that’s it. Either way, the never-ending comparison makes it sound like an “if you don’t do it, you have to do it” situation.

Of course, some ToF fans who are already happy with the current state of the game just want small changes and improvements here and there.

I’d say to them, “Good job!” , but based on most of the global coverage ToF has got, it won’t be much loved by their players, let alone those who play Genshin Impact. It seems that it has not been done.

(Arguably, this is simply due to a very vocal minority, and those who are dissatisfied will clearly complain. (Or bullied into giving in to others. But that’s another article entirely. The fan dynamics are there for another time.)

Content creators are also a big part of the game’s growing popularity. Unfortunately, from what I’ve seen, some popular content creators can’t even praise ToF without giving it a compliment from the inside out.

They say, “I love Tower of Fantasy because I love mindless MMOs,” or, “When I want to waste my time, I play when the main game of the day is over. it’s a game.”

Neither type of interpretation is inherently bad in terms of their own interpretations. However, some creators seem to shy away from liking ToF because of the way they advocate the enjoyment of ToF for their fan base.

Which makes me very sad about how ToF was handled when it was released globally.

Tower of Fantasy also leads fans

To be fair, though, ToF never shied away from comparing Genshin, and welcomed her with confidence in the early days. There was great controversy.

According to Redditors, the company has boldly stated things like “Genshin, benchmarking the upcoming 2022 Games Awards” in promotional materials, and allegedly copied items from other games (like HoYoverse’s Honkai Impact 3rd). She allegedly created promotional material that looked very similar to Artists I should ignore, to name a few.

At first, I thought ToF’s “Genshin Killer” moniker was a fan-made thing, but it clearly started with ToF’s own marketing ambitions.

Herein lies the problem. The Gacha gaming community has sunk its claws into yet another Gacha game.

So can we really blame fans for agreeing with ToF’s marketing allegations?

If ToF errors, shallow storylines, and unbearable dialogue aren’t what kills her, it’s a perennial comparison for fans.

It’s been just over a month since its worldwide release and has made $34 million in that time, but that doesn’t give a clear indication of its longevity in the market.

However, ToF has a chance to prove itself (and prove its critics wrong) with an upcoming major update, and it will be interesting to see if this turns the tide in our favour.
