After many efforts, the Bnei Akiva compound in Meron was approved for the use of Hasidism and the courts of rabbis on the coming Lag B’Omer.
In accordance with the interim conclusions of the State Commission of Inquiry into the Meron Disaster, a single lighting event of the Rebbe of Bayan will be held on Mount Meron this year. Rebbes and rabbis will be able to hold the Lag B’Omer events safely.
Recently, a number of hectic meetings and meetings have been held with the aim of locating and approving a complex that will be used by the masses of participants in the private events, including the Tishim. During the past week, MK Meir Porush met with the Minister of Religious Affairs, Matan Kahana, and asked for his intervention in locating solutions and training complexes.
After much effort on the part of the Hasidic courts, the use of the Bnei Akiva compound near the mountain was approved, after an agreed outline was found on all sides. According to the outline, a number of different events will be held at the complex at different hours, while limiting participants. Responsible for the concentration of activity in front of the Hassidic courtyards are the advisers of the project manager (retired) Arik Yekuel and Eliyahu Arend.
The Bnei Akiva complex is expected to host the Lag B’Omer events, the courtyards of Karlin Stolin and Zvehil, as well as the rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu and others. The approval is subject to safety and security plans approved by the authorities.
