Yesterday, the sessions of the fourth meeting of the Council of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the countries of the Community of Sahel and Sahara (S-Sahel) concluded in the capital, Tripoli, which was hosted by the Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity, yesterday, headed by the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zani, and with the participation of the Ministers of Youth and Sports and delegations representing 21 countries of the Community. .
The meeting discussed fruitful and constructive discussions in several aspects, most notably taking into account the policies of youth development programs at the continental level, which aim to ensure that the continent benefits from its demographic dividend stipulated in the African Youth Charter.
The participants affirmed their firm commitment to implementing the action plan, which revolves around five main priority areas: (education and skills development, youth employment, entrepreneurship, peace and security, and climate and environmental change).
Among the outcomes of the meeting was an emphasis on the importance that the (S, Y) group attaches to youth development and sports, and the responsibility placed on member states to enhance the capabilities of young people, with the aim of combating extremist ideas advocated by terrorist organizations in the gathering space.
The meeting activities concluded with the Minister of Youth presenting souvenirs to the ministers and delegations participating in the fourth meeting and the preparatory expert meetings, as part of the activities of the fourth session of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the CEN-Sahel-Saharan countries.
