The Confindustria and University together initiative, lessons for the future

by time news

The second Drim summer doctoral school on Robotics and intelligent machines has ended, which opened at the International School of Higher Education on September 5th. The event was also attended by Confindustria Toscana Sud with its associated companies Cassioli Group Spa (industrial handling and automation), Visia Lab Srl (hardware and software solutions for clinical diagnostics) and Ctc Srl – Scm Group (woodworking technologies), which participated in the round table on Monday, September 9th.

The companies had the opportunity to present their realities and the main activities that characterize them to the professors of the faculties of Engineering and to the students who are following a doctorate of national interest in the subjects of Robotics and intelligent machines. The initiative was organized thanks to the agreement between Confindustria Toscana Sud and the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Siena, aimed at reducing the distance between the academic world and companies and bringing students closer to the main companies in the area.

“We want to help young people discover and understand the many business realities present in our territory and the job opportunities offered by companies that are among the world leaders in their respective sectors – says engineer Elena Orvieti, who organized the initiative for Confindustria Toscana Sud -. Bringing young people closer to our companies is offering them an interesting opportunity to consider as an alternative to migrating to other territories”. Engineer Ettore Cassioli, project manager of Cassioli Group, said: “We are thrilled to have sponsored this event and to have had the opportunity to talk directly with the students. It is essential that universities and companies work side by side for the growth of the territory and human capital”.
