On the question of how the ownership structure of the football clubs of the First and Second Bundesliga should be dealt with in the future, the representatives of the 36 clubs adjourned this Wednesday without result. “Resolutions were not passed in this context,” it said in the afternoon in a press release from the German Football League (DFL).

The deliberations concerned the so-called 50 + 1 rule. The Federal Cartel Office declared this to be harmless at the end of May. However, the competition authorities criticized the special position of the Bayer Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim works clubs. The Cartel Office did not explicitly include the position of RB Leipzig in its deliberations. But even with the Saxons there is a single large group in the background.
