Röszke. The traffic order at the highway border crossing in Röszke will change from Monday, the checks of EU and non-EU citizens will be carried out in separate lanes, the police announced on its website. The new inspection regime will be introduced as an experiment until June 26. During this period, above the gates at the crossing, information boards – already known at other crossings – indicate whether the given lane can be used by citizens from within or outside the European Union. The reason for the separation of traffic is the different control procedure based on international agreements. The police expects the selective method to speed up the inspection, and if experience proves it, the procedure will be made permanent.
