Title: Indiana Jones game to be exclusive to Xbox and PC
Following Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax/Bethesda, it has been confirmed that the upcoming Indiana Jones game will be developed as a console exclusive for Xbox and will also be available on PC.
The game, which is currently being developed by Swedish studio Machine Games, has been a topic of much speculation since the acquisition. Originally planned as a multi-format release, the game’s exclusivity to Xbox and PC was announced after Microsoft’s renegotiation of its deal with Disney.
In an interview with Disney Games Director Sean Shoptaw, it was stated that the decision to make Indiana Jones a console exclusive for Xbox makes sense financially and strategically, as Xbox is still one of the larger gaming markets.
Despite the exclusivity, Disney does not seem worried about potential sales drops, as they believe the game will still reach a broad range of people.
The announcement of the game was made almost three years ago, and it is expected that the game will be revealed in 2024, with a potential launch in 2025.
