“We are in negotiations (with Nova) to enter into a mutual wholesale agreement for our sports channels. The deal will allow COSMOTE to offer TV new, improved pay TV packages to its customers, which will include more sports content with a single subscription and at a very attractive price. In this way, a necessary step is taken in the fight against piracy, which distorts the market, threatening the financial viability of pay TV providers”, say OTE Group sources.
Sources close to Nova said that it is a three-year contract open to any provider that wants to join, whether Vodafone TV or Inalan, and aims to combat piracy. The fee for Nova will vary from one to four euros and essentially a “competitive force” against piracy will be created for the first time, as the consumer will have access to all sports content for only 20 euros.
