The councilors of the Orihuela City Council have already presented their respective declarations of mandatory assets when accessing their positions, as published this Tuesday by the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). The list of assets that they make public is broken down by assets and liabilities. Within the first, there would be real estate and others such as bank accounts, shares or vehicles, while, in the second section, would be loans and mortgages.

The mayor, Pepe Vegara, declares that he has two properties, one in Orihuela and the other in Molina de Segura. Among the other active assets, he declares that he owns 4.12% of the Itevebasa family business for which an investigation is open to both him and his partners for alleged tax fraud. The new councilor is, by far, the one who declares to have the most bank accounts, with up to twelve in four different entities. Some shared with other people, others as a representative and the last as a representative of a company. Likewise, he claims to have a pension plan, life insurance and three vehicles: a Nissan X-Trail, a Porsche Boxter and a Seat Ibiza. Regarding debts, he has a mortgage contracted with Bankinter.

Despite the fact that the good career of the mayor in the business world is known to all, the statements of other councilors are not far behind in the amount of declared assets. Behind, would be the new councilor for Urban Planning and Heritage, Matías Ruiz. The mayor, a civil engineer employed by the City Council for the last three years, claims to own no less than three houses (two in Orihuela and one in Valencia), a commercial premises, three parking spaces and a rustic farm, all of these in Orihuela . Likewise, he has four bank accounts in two different entities, a savings plan, three pension plans, three investment funds and an Audi A-4. No debt, loan or mortgage.

As for real estate, there are also numerous statements by the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Youth, Ana Isabel Mateo (Vox). The pharmaceutical company owns three homes in Orihuela, La Murada and Torrevieja, as well as two warehouses in Orihuela. The councilor of the PSOE, Milagros Lacárcel, is not far behind either and she also has Torrevieja as a second residence, where she has a house and three parking spaces, apart from another residence in Orihuela with her garage. His classmate, Isidro Grao, also claims to have two homes and two garage spaces in Orihuela, a home and a garage in Torrevieja, and a garage space in Albatera.

As curiosities regarding the houses, it is striking that two councilors do not have residence, at least declared, in Orihuela. The first deputy mayor and leader of Vox Orihuela, Manuel Mestre, has his residence fixed in Elche and the Councilor for Education, Vicente Pina, in Redován. Outside the urban area, but within the Oriolano municipal area, the Councilor for Citizens, Luisa Boné (on the coast), the Councilor for Infrastructures, Víctor Valverde (Hurchillo), the Councilor for Sports, Víctor Sigüenza (La Murada), claim to have their residence. ) and the socialist councilor Aynara Navarro (Molins)

Precisely the latter would stand out for being the mayor of the Consistory with the most shares and assets by different percentages and in up to five companies, which make up the bulk of her declaration together with her two homes and a bank account.

In another order of things, the majority of councilors declare that they only have one vehicle. Apart from the mayor, only the councilors Víctor Valverde (2), Agustina Rodríguez (2), Milagros Lacárcel (2), Isidro Grao and the Councilor for Education, Vicente Pina, who would be the one with the most cars in the Corporation, have more than one . He owns a Chrisler Voyager, an Audi Q3, his company vehicles (Codex Books) and a Mercedes GLC 220 for rent.

The councilors who owe the most on their liabilities are Mar Ezcurra, with four shared loans, and Agustina Rodríguez, with a mortgage and two loans.

Among the councilors who declare the least assets to their credit are the two councilors of Cambiemos. Carlos Bernabé claims to have three bank accounts and a Nissan Note, while his partner Leticia Pertegal claims to have a bank account and life insurance. Along the same lines, the Councilor for Festivities and Waste, Rocío Ortuño, declares that she only has two bank accounts.

The former mayor and socialist spokesperson, Carolina Gracia, for her part, declares that she does not own any real estate property or any debt. She only claims to own two bank accounts, life insurance and an Opel Insignia.
