According to a press release issued by Kallakurichi District Collector Sreedhar: –
Athletics
District level athletics and team competitions are to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at Kallakurichi Government Men’s High School by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority to promote the disabled.
In athletics, men and women with hand and foot disabilities run 50 meters, 100 meters. Competitions in running, bomb throwing, wheelchair, 50m running for men and women, 100m running, standing jumping, bomb throwing, volleyball throwing, 50m running for men and women, volleyball throwing, 100m. There will be m running, standing jump and bomb throwing competitions and deaf men and women 100m running, 200m running, long jump, bomb throwing and 400m running.
Medical Certificate
To participate in these competitions, a medical certificate issued by an authorized physician and a certificate issued by the District Disability Welfare Officer and a non-restricted certificate issued by the head office must be submitted. There is no age limit to participate in this competition. Also the first place winners in the district competitions will be eligible to participate in the state level competitions.
Prizes and certificates will also be given to the winners of the first 3 places by participating in these competitions. Therefore, the disabled from Kallakurichi district are requested to attend in large numbers.
