ASSUMPTION.- Senator Hermelinda Alvarenga said that the country’s economic situation is not ripe for new loans, assuring that the Senate Finance Committee is analyzing various loans pending approval.

In this sense, he maintained that the urgency is taken into account as well as what they will be used for, highlighting that his bench does not yet have a defined position on them.

“There are loans that are for health and for works, but there are other loans that come for works and that add up to a lot, they are more than 615 million dollars,” he said, while emphasizing that the debt would be very high.

He indicated that there is a percentage of these loans, which would be allocated for salaries and human resources, as well as for payment to suppliers.

He also stated that he understands the importance of paying service payments to suppliers to prevent them from failing to carry out the work for which they were contracts, so the analyzes will be done as quickly as possible.

“We do not agree with loans that are not necessary,” Alvarenga concluded.
