In their statement this Thursday afternoon (11) before the Civil Police, the black couple attacked in a supermarket belonging to the Carrefour group in Salvador claimed to have tried to steal four bags of powdered milk to feed their one-year-old daughter.

The victims, identified as Jeremias and Jamile, told police they had been assaulted by six security guards. According to them, the attacks began in the parking lot, where Jeremías was hit with a crowbar, and continued inside the store.

The attack occurred on the 5th at the Big Bom Preço supermarket, belonging to the Carrefour group. Searched again this Thursday (11), the company once again said that it is collaborating with the authorities and that it registered a complaint for personal injuries against the perpetrators of the attacks.

“We hand over the images from the security cameras to the Civil Police so that what happened is investigated and those responsible are punished. The same will be done with the Public Ministry and other authorities,” the Carrefour group reaffirmed in a statement.
