The court accepted the police appeal: the owners of the forum club will remain in custody

The Be’er Sheva District Court today (Friday) granted an appeal by the Israel Police to extend the detention of the owners of the “Forum” club, Yossi Schwartz, who is suspected of serious sexual offenses and drugs, and extended his detention. In doing so, he reversed the decision of the city Magistrate’s Court to release him under house arrest.

Meanwhile, at the end of the police investigation, a prosecutor’s statement was filed by the Southern District Attorney’s Office. As will be recalled, the judge ruled in his decision that the detention could be replaced by house arrest because the suspect had been in detention for two weeks.

The investigation against Schwartz opened at the end of last month on suspicion of committing sexual offenses inside and outside the club. The police said that as long as there are victims who identify themselves in front of the accused and have not yet arrived at the police station, they were asked to do so as soon as possible. Schwartz was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport upon his return to Israel and brought before the court on the suspicions attributed above.

Advocate Gali Singer, Deputy Director General and Director of the Legal Department at the Women’s Lobby in Israel, said: .
