The court has not yet decided whether Gabriela Slavova and her mother – Krasimira Trifonova, are guilty of the murder of Peyo Peev. The trial has been going on for more than half a year, and during that time Veliko Minkov was able to prove with a DNA test that he is the father of one of Slavova’s children. Months later, he continues to fight to raise his son as a full parent. It seems the court does not allow him to take it home, refusing to even discuss this option, reports NOVA.
“The DNA examination from May absolutely unequivocally shows that I am the father. However, the law is such that this expertise leads to nothing legally. It’s just evidence that maybe someday will be accepted in court if the case goes forward. The child is placed with some wonderful people – Peyo’s parents. I am grateful that they give me the opportunity to take care of my son,” said Veliko Minkov.
According to his lawyer – Plamen Borisov, the Social Assistance Agency should make a request to the court that the child be placed with his biological father.
Crasimira and Peyo’s wife Gabriela are charged with the young man’s murder, which prosecutors say happened on January 18. It is alleged that the mother is suffocating Peyo and her daughter Gabriela is preventing him from escaping. The action took place in the victim’s car, and then the vehicle and the corpse were taken to Vitosha, where they were discovered a day later. The car and the evidence in it were slightly burnt, and it is believed that in this way the perpetrators tried to erase the traces of the brutal murder.
The mother and daughter were subsequently taken into custody. Gabriela was then released to take care of her two children, but it turned out that the children were actually already in the care of Peyo Peev’s mother and father. When this became public knowledge, the court immediately returned Gabriela to custody. A few months passed and things seemed to repeat themselves. During all this time, mother Krasimira was in the cell of “G.M. Dimitrov”. She tried to get out several times, but was not released.
Gabriela denied that the child was Veliko’s, and in the birth certificate, the murdered Peyo Peev was entered as the father, since the two married a week before the birth.
